Getting Ready to go to SHOT

Well, all preparations are underway for NFATCA board members to attend the 2008 Shooting Hunting and Outdoors Trade (SHOT) show. This year will be an exciting year with the Law Enforcement and Military section having grown yet another 20%. That means a lot of traffic down the corridors where some of the neatest NFA items are displayed by some of the largest manufacturers in the country. As usual, the NFATCA membership will have a lot of presence at SHOT without the help of a booth. We are just not big enough yet to pay out the kind of money that a booth requires! Our hopes are up for 2009 as perhaps our first year at SHOT with a booth.

Ken Houchens is all settled in Boston in his new position and reports are good from the North. As usual, he is tackling the Northeast with the vigor he always shows. We will certainly miss him as the NFA Branch chief.

We are working this week to make the NFA Handbook available on line, through the website. I would like to thank the guys at Ohio Ordnance for coming up with some great ideas on juicing up the web site. Look for pictures and more information every week as we make weekly updates and present the latest news right here on the front page. -- John Brown
