The Gun Control Act (GCA) has provisions for the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms & Explosives to implement amnesty registration periods. There has only been one 90 day registration period (in 1968) and the only notice given was via bulletins in the Post Offices.
Nothing about the law limits the implementation of additional registration periods. The legislation was passed by both Houses of Congress and signed into law by President Johnson. No further Congressional action is needed. Your action is another matter. Join NFATCA today and sign the petition.
